We are seeking a qualified and experienced Project Cost Controller to join our dynamic team. The Project Cost Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring effective cost management, budget adherence, and financial transparency throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and leadership to provide accurate financial insights, support decision-making, and contribute to the overall success of our projects. Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Monitoring, Analysis, and Estimation:
- Track and monitor Project Costs throughout the lifecycle.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop accurate cost estimates using techniques such as Monte Carlo simulations and material take-offs.
- Conduct Opex and Capex analysis of cost variances, providing insights into potential risks and opportunities.
2. Budget Management and Earned Value Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.
- Implement and manage Earned Value Management techniques to assess project performance against planned budgets and schedules.
3. Forecasting:
- Utilize historical project data and current financial information to forecast future Project Costs.
- Provide accurate and timely financial forecasts.
4. Reporting:
- Prepare and present regular financial reports detailing Project Costs, forecasts, and variances.
- Provide training and guidance to project teams on cost control procedures.
- Foster a culture of financial responsibility within the project environment.
5. Risk Management:
- Identify potential financial risks and proactively work to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with the project team to address any cost-related issues promptly.
6. Change Management:
- Evaluate and assess the financial impact of changes to the project scope or requirements.
- Advise on the cost implications of proposed changes and assist in making informed decisions.
7. Resource Allocation:
- Work with project managers to allocate resources efficiently, considering cost implications and capital cost estimates.
- Optimize resource utilization to achieve project objectives within budget.
8. Financial Governance Recordkeeping:
- Enforce financial policies, procedures, and controls to maintain integrity in Project Cost management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records related to Project Costs.
9. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in Project Cost controls.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and implement relevant improvements.
10. Collaboration:
- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, finance teams, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive financial management.
- Work closely with the project team to translate financial data into actionable insights.
Qualification and Skills Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Project Management.
- Demonstrated previous work experience of 4-5 years in roles such as Cost Analyst, Cost Accountant, or Assistant Cost Controller.
- Industry-recognized certifications, such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Project Management Professional.
- Strong work history with specific achievements in managing projects within budget, implementing cost-saving initiatives, or improving financial processes.
