Our client is a leading renewable energy company committed to driving the transition to a sustainable and low-carbon future. As they continue to expand their operations, our client is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Development Director to join their team.
The Development Director will play a pivotal role in leading the development and implementation of wind, solar and BESS projects in Victoria and New South Wales. Responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning, the successful candidate will ensure the deployment of cutting-edge solutions in renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Development: Lead the identification, evaluation, and development of wind, solar and BESS projects, considering technical, financial, and regulatory aspects.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, local communities, landowners, and government agencies.
- Site Selection: Conduct thorough site assessments, considering environmental impact, grid connection feasibility, and other relevant factors.
- Financial Analysis: Collaborate with finance teams to conduct financial modeling, ensuring the economic viability of projects.
- Permitting and Compliance: Manage the permitting process and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers, contractors, and other partners to secure favourable terms for project implementation.
- Technical Oversight: Work closely with engineering teams to ensure the successful design, procurement, and construction of projects.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with Project development and execution.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective and efficient project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at a minimum; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in renewable energy Project development, with a focus on utility-grade generation and storage projects.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and grid integration in Victoria and New South Wales.
- Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
