The Project Director - Operational Readiness and Transition, will be a highly focused and driven professional who is passionate about contributing to the delivery of public infrastructure, working within a high-performing project team to drive exceptional outcomes, on schedule. They will have extensive relevant health capital project delivery experience, strong construction and facilities management services acumen and well-developed emotional intelligence to deliver the project in a complex, multidisciplinary environment liaising with a range of senior stakeholders who may have competing priorities.
The Project Director - Operational Readiness and Transition, will be responsible for providing authoritative specialist input into planning, delivery and reporting on progress of the completion, commissioning, mobilisation and Transition activities for the project and will play a key role as State lead for the Facilities Management workstream.
The Project Director - Operational Readiness and Transition will have relevant and extensive experience in managing completion, commissioning, mobilisation, Operational Readiness and Transition aspects of major health infrastructure projects delivered as Public Private Partnership (PPP) Projects and/or other High Value High Risk (HVHR) projects.
You will operate in a fast paced, performance focused workplace where you will need to work autonomously.
This position will report to the Executive Project Director, Frankston Hospital Redevelopment and will oversee the consultant team and manage the relevant contractors on a day-to-day basis. The position will be responsible for the liaison between the contractors, consultants and the operational hospital and will be required to ensure that the hospital is able to continue to function throughout the construction period and operationally ready to move into the new and refurbished facilities being delivered by the Project.
The Project Director - Operational Readiness and Transition will work collaboratively with VHBA's broader PPP Unit as well as the Delivery Unit's executive, overseen by the Senior Executive Director, Delivery, and with all VHBA's service units.
Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- Management expertise in complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects and health infrastructure delivery, in particular PPP projects leading construction completion.
- Extensive experience in the planning and delivery of PPP projects.
- Extensive experience in the design and delivery of health infrastructure projects.
