Phillip Riley has partnered exclusively with a well backed and well established global Offshore Wind developer in its search for a Project Director to join its local team.
You will lead the team responsible for the development and management of all aspects of the project's origination, development, and full construction works, with an ability to flex between leadership and a hands-on project approach.
Ideal candidates will be experienced Project Directors, with a strong technical background to complement the existing team. A central responsibility throughout development process will be supporting stakeholder engagement (including relevant authorities, supply chains, and community), so we're looking for excellent communication skills and a proven ability to establish relationships.
Knowledge of the Australian market will be valuable, however, we are open to applications from candidates who have either:
- A strong background in Offshore Wind; or
- A strong background in the Australian market from oil & gas or onshore renewables.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Manage and interface with both internal and external project; stakeholders, including senior management and project delivery team;
- Establish the project and originate/execute material project construction contracts;
- Work within the established scheduled to achieve FID and a timely commercial operation date;
- Report to the project company board on behalf of the business and its project partners during the project development and construction phases;
- Support onwards recruitment of project support (direct and contracted).
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills/experience:
- Significant experience in the development and construction of large-scale, complex energy assets;
- Ability to lead and motivate large teams to deliver timely project outcomes;
- Strong technical, commercial, and financial understanding of energy asset development and construction;
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills;
- Awareness of cultural and diversity initiatives to achieve best team, project, and community outcomes;
- Based in Melbourne with the ability to travel to other parts of Victoria, Australia, or overseas locations for business, project, or conference requirements.
