Key responsibilities
• Provide communication advice and support in the areas of communication strategy and risk assessment, stakeholder and community engagement, and media and issues management related to transport infrastructure projects.
• Develop and maintain ongoing key strategic relationships and networks with other government agencies, project partners, contractors, community and interest groups and internal and external clients.
• Plan, develop, implement and manage key communication activities and events as required.
• Ensure appropriate governance frameworks are maintained and adhered to in order to monitor compliance with policy, legislation, regulations, standards and procedures.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Requirements of the role
• Proficiency building and sustaining relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes.
• Aptitude for adjusting to evolving environments and changing expectations.
• Experience in a strategic communication or community engagement role in an environment dealing with major infrastructure projects, particularly in the transport or civil engineering sector.
• Demonstrated capability in community engagement, executive correspondence, public relations and media.
• While qualifications are not mandatory, a degree in communications, public relations, journalism or marketing would be highly desirable. Certification in International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) in Engagement will also be
considered favourably
