Our team is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join our team based in Newcastle, the position is a permanent full-time role.
Last year we reported our best financial performance to date and we have an exciting project portfolio ahead that includes battery minerals and critical metals as well as continuing our focus on copper and gold. Working across the full lifecycle of projects from scoping studies through to execution of EPC and EPCM, you will find yourself working across geographical locations such as Africa, Southeast Asia and the Pacific region. The successful candidate will have the right client and team focus, as well as a commitment to and enthusiasm for continuous improvement.
About the role
- Project engineering coordination dealing with engineering, construction and procurement to ensure overall project schedule, budgets and targets are achieved.
- Development of project execution plans, ensuring compliance and use of project delivery systems and procedures
- Development and management through to closeout, scopes of services and scopes of facilities across all project work areas including fabrication, process facilities, infrastructure and site services.
- Prepare documentation, plans, designs, calculations and cost estimates for provision of engineering services
- Deliver accurate and meaningful reports for all types commonly required on projects. This includes progress, cost, resources, procurement and expediting
- Identification, classification and management of risk
- Liaison between internal and external groups ensuring stakeholders are effectively communicating across multiple offices and locations.
About you
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification with two or more years' experience practicing in a core engineering discipline with an engineering and project services provider
- Five years' experience delivering projects as a field engineer, controls engineer, contracts engineer or in a similar role with an engineering company or on an owner's team for complex heavy process industry projects.
- Holds or acquires detailed knowledge of relevant company standards and procedures.
- Has a strong understanding of typically used project delivery systems and tools such as Primavera P6, Oracle, SharePoint and Hexagon
- Personal attributes such as being well organized to prioritize, planning and organize work tasks, high level of commitment, excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure completes the profile.
