Enjoy:Free parkingCEO recognition program Employee Assistance ProgramWorking in a fun, friendly and supportive teamFlexible working arrangementsAbout your new Branch The Engineering, Design and Standards Branch is responsible for infrastructure engineering, design, survey, specifications, asset standards, electrical infrastructure and contributed assets across all customer and community facing infrastructure classes.About your new roleBased on the Gold Coast and reporting to the Senior Assessment Engineer you will be responsible for:Key Role Responsibilities Managing the assessment of non-standard water and sewer connection applications to ensure they are completed within the framework of the Connection PolicyReviewing of Work Methodologies, SWMS and the coordination of Network shutdowns or by-passing Reviewing the submission of all QA documentation, commissioning plans, O&M manuals and testing results that are associated with the developer contributed water and sewer assets constructed.Managing the assessment of As-Constructed sewer and water data applications Completing site inspections associated with the construction of complex and trunk infrastructure agreement delivered sewer and water assets.Resolving design and construction conflicts on-site Working and having direct feedback and input into the SEQ Code standards and the products endorsed for use by CoGCWorking collaboratively with the Mech/Elec team to ensure relevant assets are delivered compliantly.Working collaboratively with the City Development officers to coordinate and formalise the development design change approval process requirements that may occur as a result of on-site compliance, constructability or conflict issuesAssisting with the development of new team processes and proceduresManaging and reporting of compliance issues What you bring to your new roleYou hold a Bachelor Degree of Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent KnowledgeSubstantial knowledge and/or experience in the design and construction of all facets of water and sewer assets Substantial knowledge of the SEQ D&C Code and the requirements withinKnowledge and understanding of legislation and by-laws including: Workplace Health and Safety Act and relevant Code of Practice, Environmental Protection Act, Water Act 2000Knowledge and understanding of the development planning and approval process, the conditions and their application Knowledge and experience using quality management systems, including 9001, 14001, HACCP and 4801 Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal, negotiation, oral and written communication skills including an ability to articulate complex issues in a changing environment.Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and procedures.Ability to appropriately prioritise problems, gather and analyse the right information to develop new procedures and provide specialist advice for improved operations.Ability to work productively in a team environment and to foster good relationships with other team members and all levels of management.Ability to engage with all users of water, recycled water and sewer networks in a positive manner.High level of technical expertise, with strong influencing, interpersonal and negotiation skills.Proven ability to provide effective customer service to internal and external customers.Demonstrated ability to work in an office environment, on a construction site and in a customer’s premises.You hold a C Class Drivers Licence UnrestrictedYou hold a General Construction Induction White CardWhat's next?Click on the 'Apply' button to complete your online application.
