Address About the companyA well-known Australian private equity fund is bringing together two complimentary founder-led Australian FMCG brands with the intention to grow. They are embarking on a consolidation project to bring their operations together under one roof to maximise manufacturing efficiency and ensure high quality standards. Factories from both South Australia and Victoria will be relocated and integrated into their flagship facility in Adelaide, before they drive modernisation and automation through the operations.About the roleThe core of this role is the installation, commissioning, and handover of production and packaging equipment (extrusion machines, drying machines, flow wrappers, shrink wrappers etc) within an operational manufacturing environment. The project has already been set up, planned and scheduled, suppliers appointed, budgets have been allocated, and work packages created - it is about to enter the execution stage which is where you'll take over to ensure the physical works are completed to design, budget, and schedule, that the team is communicated with effectively throughout, risks are anticipated and mitigated, contractors are supervised, and that there are change management principles for a successful outcome.
About youWe're seeking someone who is available for a six month contract at reasonably short notice, so we are flexible, but ideally seeking:
A tertiary qualified engineer (likely mechanical, but open to process or electrical)
Experience in manufacturing capital projects, preferably at an FMCG manufacturing site
Why apply?If this sounds like something you'd be available for, and capable of, then I can offer a great daily rate - the role is well suited to someone in their early to mid career, but this doesn't mean we wouldn't consider more experienced people who can also bring additional value. With that in mind, the daily rate range we have to work with is quite wide. Although we can't guarantee it, there is likely to be ongoing demand within this business given their agenda is one of growth, investment, automation, and modernisation. The culture is a positive one - people are excited about the investment the business is receiving and the opportunities this is creating for people, there has been a significant injection of experience and expertise in the business, while retaining what has made the brands successful so far. The factory is located in the Port Adelaide area, the contract is initially for six months.
