Meka Recruitment are working with a leading Marine and Civil company that has projects throughout Western Australia, Tasmania and Queensland. Due to an increase in projects, they are looking for a Project Engineer to join their team. You will have the opportunity to travel and work.
Duties will include, but not limited to
- Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Superintendent to develop and implement a four week look ahead program. This will be consistently reviewed with the progress of the project to ensure that the project is delivered on time.
- Tracking design changes, assessing the scope, time issues and migration strategies.
- Liaise with the site team to review the design and specifications to ensure that is constructed to meet the industry standards
- Submit, resolve , track and close off any RFI's within a 21 day timeframe to ensure that the projcet is not delayed.
- Ensure that all sub- contractors understand the scope of work and work with them to develop a cost-effective schedule
- Attend weekly meetings to track the progress of the schedule and address any issues to resolve in a timely manner.
- Obtain technical data, pricing and compliance documentation for permanent materials
- Read, understand and advise on the codes of compliance to ensure the project is delivered to meet the requirements.
The ideal person will:
- Have a Tertiary degree in Engineering/Construction Management
- At least 5 to 7 years on site experience with marine projects in particular piling.
- Strong focus on safety as this is the company priority for all their staff
- Ability to communicate clearly both written and verbal as you will be liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Have a good understanding of financial and contract management
- Extensive programming skills
