Your new role
As a Project Engineer, your primary objective will be to provide engineering expertise in the design, fabrication and construction of the project to ensure successful project delivery in accordance with clients’ expectations and safety, quality, time and cost objectives.
Other key responsibilities may include:
• Prepare ITP’s and establish and maintain an effective quality system to ensure all records, test results and inspections are obtained
• Keep Project Manager informed of project development, and liaises with and coordinates the activities of Supervisors and leading hands, providing technical and other support
• Identify, assess and manage the hazards and risks associated with project activities
• Provide project financial reviews of budget, cost to complete, variations, and contractual claims
• Understand specific commercial requirements of project delivery including EOT notification and variation claims
• Attend operations meetings, flash meetings, toolbox meetings and others as required
• Manage risk, reports hazards and incidents, and participate in investigations and audits
• Assist with the preparation of project production control reports, preparation of client contract reporting and project completion reviews and reporting as required.
What you'll need to succeed
• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent tertiary degree
• Experience in project related disciplines
• Sound knowledge of geotechnical principles and design
• Current driving licence C
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Knowledge and application of engineering Standards
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word and MS Project
• Attention to detail, results oriented and able to meet deadlines
• Self-motivated, positive and strong work ethic
• Available for FIFO work
