We currently seek a full time, permanent Estimator, who will bring their experience and positive approach to contribute to our future success.
NOTE: CHESS ENGINEERING IS RELOCATING TO LEPPINGTON IN JULY
What You Will Do
- Review incoming enquiries to ensure specifications & requirements are within our company capabilities.
- Read & interpret construction documents, drawings & detailed specifications.
- Obtain prices for materials from suppliers & estimate labour costs.
- Liaise with clients regarding clarification of their requirements, maintaining close relationships.
- Conduct site inspections & measure-ups, as required.
- Ensure all estimates and quotes remain transparent for Chess Project & Production teams.
- Estimate & set profit levels for General Manager to review.
- Observe safety protocols & actively contribute to a positive team environment.
What You Will Bring
- Five or more years' experience as a Mechanical Engineering Estimator with structural, mechanical & miscellaneous metal fabrication background.
- Disciplined approach and a strong knowledge of standard estimating practices
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment & able to focus on client solutions & needs.
- Strong analytical, organisational & problem-solving skills
- Strong commercial orientation with a profit mentality
- Able to manage variety in types of quotes.
- Thorough understanding of project schedules & logistics
- Excellent interpersonal & customer service skills
- A highly professional approach with clients & internal teams via phone, email & face-to-face
