We’re currently recruiting for a Project Manager to work with our client, a global leader in digital system’s design and integration, on a major transport project in Melbourne.
Reporting to the Project Director, this is an end-to-end Project Management role focused on operational set-up and delivery of the project including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, management, and coordination with various stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of the project on time and within budget.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Set-up project for successful delivery in line with PMO and company requirements
- Manage project scope, budget, timeline, and quality to deliver the required outcomes
- Manage suppliers, contractors, and other relevant project personnel
- Develop and maintain a variety of artefacts – Project Management Plan, Controls Pack, Variation Register, Monthly Reports, Client Reports etc.
- Act as the point of contact, and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers/contractors, government, transport operators, project team members, senior management etc.
Skills and Requirements
- Prior experience in a Project Management/Delivery role
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, IT or similar would be beneficial
- Experience interfacing with transport operators would be valuable – Tram, Train, Bus, etc.
- Good written and spoken English language skills including the ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels - Subcontractors, Management, Government, Operators, etc.
- Prior experience in heavy industries would be highly beneficial (rail, bus, transport, defence, mining, water, power, utilities etc.)
