As one of Queensland’s earliest nature-based tourist destinations, the Sanctuary is a physical embodiment of everything the NTAQ represents: to conserve and advance our natural and cultural heritage for future generations.

As our organisation works to deliver new vibrant and engaging guest experiences and organisational growth, we are seeking a driven Project Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of select NTAQ projects and focus on driving outcomes across minor to major works across the organisation. Reporting to General Manager – Strategic Projects, our Project Manager will work across a portfolio of diverse projects and require involvement from planning, design to implementation, to support the successful delivery of State-wide projects.

About the RoleAs our experienced and highly skilled, Project Manager you will support the Strategic Projects team by providing day-to-day project management, budgeting, planning and stakeholder management to support the delivery of minor and major projects across the NTAQ Portfolio which includes up to 15 Heritage Properties including Tourism Icon and Heritage listed, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.

As a highly autonomous Project Manager you will work with the General Manager – Strategic Projects to define project scope, goals, deliverables, and schedules and assist with the development of projects plans in-line with the CWS Master-plan, other properties master-plans and the NTAQ Strategic Plan.  You will also undertake cost plans and analytical reviews to seek cost savings, efficiencies and further business opportunities and work to negotiate contracts for vendors' services and products to achieve strategic and project goals.

As a highly detailed individual, you will prepare correspondence, monthly reports, and briefing papers and assist in the preparation of technical documents ensuring a high-level of attention to detail and efficiency. In this specialised role, you will support internal and external stakeholders including other senior leaders, and contractors by providing advice, procedural guidance, and technical expertise, facilitating process improvement efforts while mentoring others in continuous improvement tools and techniques. 

As a key role within our organisation and contributor to our success, you will be able to develop good internal and external relationships to support project delivery and developing a sound understanding of the strategic direction of NTAQ to contribute to researching future growth opportunities to further support our Vision, Mission and Values.

About YouTo be successful in this role, you will prior experience in a Project Management within a live-site environment and proven ability to coordinate the management of compliance, monitoring, procurement, and risk management systems. Other key skills and experiences that would make you a suitable candidate include:

  • High level computer skills and experience with project management tools/ software.
  • Strong numeracy skills with an exceptional eye for detail.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex, industry-specific matters.
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work autonomously but also collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • An understanding of, or experience in, the management of heritage assets would be desirable but not essential.
  • Relevant qualification e.g. Project Management or Engineering, or equivalent work experience in this industry.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence and continuous improvement with the ability to model professional standards of conduct, personal presentation, behaviour, and integrity.
  • Be prepared to work in an outdoor environment, in a workplace that has native wildlife such as birds and reptiles.
