We are currently seeking a dynamic and driven Project Manager to join our Cemeteries & Crematoria (CemCrem) business unit.
The Role:
As a Project Manager at InvoCare, you will play a crucial role in coordinating people and processes to ensure our projects are delivered on time and meet our high standards. Reporting to the Executive General Manager - Cemeteries & Crematoria, you will be the go-to person for everything involving a specific project and timeline. Projects are varied but will all focus on business and process improvement.
The InvoCare support office is currently located in North Sydney, however, we are excited to announce that our office will be relocating to the North West or Western suburbs by July 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations:
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless project execution.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Develop project scopes and objectives involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Lead project planning sessions, coordinate staff, manage project progress, and adapt work as required.
- Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders, design and sign off on contracts, and oversee all incoming and outgoing project documentation.
- Participate in the tender process, including design submission and review.
- Design risk mitigation plans, conduct project reviews, and create detailed reports for executive staff.
- Optimise and improve processes and overall project approach.
- Internal Systems and Processes:
- Follow InvoCare policies, procedures, and location systems.
- Maintain records and information systems to monitor and control location activity.
- Customer Management:
- Manage internal and external resources on projects, ensuring deliverables are met and maintaining regular and appropriate communication with stakeholders.
- Identify and develop opportunities to provide exceptional service and continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Positively represent InvoCare in the community and participate in promotions and local networks.
- Financial Management:
- Achieve financial targets for sales averages and collection of funeral pa yments.
- Contribute to processes and ideas for business growth, sustainability, and cost minimisation.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Formal qualifications in a project management discipline
- Strong background in business skills, management, budgeting, and analysis.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage time, prioritise work, and multi-task.
- Ability to engage multiple stakeholders and build alignment.
- Integrity, honesty, ethical behaviour, and a commitment to InvoCare’s philosophy, culture, and policies.
- Strong business and technical writing skills.
- Expert relationship-building and conflict-resolution skills.
- Comfort with death, the expression of grief, and handling deceased people.
- Understanding of the funeral service industry or ability to rapidly acquire industry knowledge.
