The opportunity
Greater Western Water is committed to delivering sustainable water and wastewater services for Melbourne's thriving communities. At the heart of it all is our ambitious transformation program, designed to secure our future with efficient operations and affordable water bills. This is where you come in.
We're looking for a passionate and experienced project leader to spearhead a key stream within this multi-year program. You'll play a pivotal role in implementing strategic initiatives across areas customer experience, procurement and automation/digitisation Your immediate focus will be delivering quick-win projects that generate real savings this financial year. But your impact won't stop there. As the program unfolds, you'll help redesign GWW to be the organization of the future.
This is an 18-month fixed-term contract initially with a good chance of permanency. You can work full-time or 4 days in a hybrid model.
Responsibilities
Lead, organize, implement, and coordinate resources to ensure project outcomes are realised, embedded across multiple GWW functions and aligned with the program outcomes.
Develop and implement a plan for delivery of multiple projects and initiatives that considers internal and external resourcing needs, governance and change management.
Proactive tracking and reporting of project progress, risks and issues, financial planning, management and tracking within project budget and scope.
Effective communication of the plans, roles and responsibilities and timelines.
Delivery of scope to agreed timeframes with regular check-ins and proactive management.
Reviewing and communicating regularly with other leaders to develop action plans relating to inter-dependencies with other work streams.
Skills & Experience
Your combined expertise in consulting and/or in-house project management with a focus on business transformation, make you ideal for this exciting role. You’re passionate about transforming organisations and you’ve worked on programs that have focused on implementing new or significant changes to operating models, service delivery models and other transformation programs that are far broader than just IT transformations.
Significant experience in project delivery positions from within complex operating environments with a focus on implementing strategic transformation projects. This could include projects related to corporate efficiency, transitioning customers to self-service and digital, asset and works management.
Experience working across multiple teams and functions to deliver outcomes. You have worked until the very end of projects, seeing them come to fruition, providing you with job satisfaction.
You manage people at all levels with ease due to your natural persuasive style and ability to make the complex simple, both in written and verbal communication.
Demonstrated strength in budget and resource management alongside adept reporting abilities of all things project related (cost, resources, risks, schedules etc)
You’re a clever leader who has a high degree of commercial acumen and you’re not fussed if you lead one or multiple resources as your main priority is delivering what you’ve promised.
