About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our Red Ochre Autonomy and Sensors Program, managing the Periscope In Service Support based in Mawson Lakes, South Australia.
Reporting to the Program Manager DSS, this lead role will be responsible for effectively engaging stakeholders, leading a project team and managing sub-contractors / consultants to achieve project requirements efficiently, effectively and safely.
Working across all aspects of Project Management, the successful applicant will be responsible for leading a collaborative and integrated team – with a best for enterprise culture.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivery of projects with clear defined scope of works
- Leading the project team to ensure timely activity, integration and efficient use of time and resources to meet requirements
- Track and report progress and forecast final targets for cost and schedule
- Fostering a positive collaborative culture between key project stakeholders and the project team including the customer, sub-contractors and suppliers
- Ensuring all project requirements and/ or objectives are properly documented in a business case and/or project brief, as appropriate and vigorously pursued
- Establishing appropriate key success indicators and recommend trade-offs between scope, quality, time and cost
- Identify project opportunities and risks and develop mitigation strategies for pursuit throughout contract phases. Monitor and report on the status of risks and opportunities
- Maintenance of project management baseline
About YOU
- Tertiary Qualification in Project Management or Engineering (advantageous)
- Previous experience in a Project Management role within the Australian Defence sector
- Proven experience delivering successful projects in addition to stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Previous experience managing successful teams in additional to subcontractors / consultants
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Baseline Defence Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain
