Are you passionate about wildlife conservation and looking for a meaningful role where you can make a difference? Koala Conservation Australia (KCA) invites applications for the position of Project Manager which will be based at the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital.
KCA Limited is a not-for-profit organisation that is run by a dedicated team of approximately 15 staff and 200 volunteers committed to koala conservation and restoring their natural habitats.
As the Project Manager for the PMKH redevelopment project, your role will be crucial in, overseeing all aspects of the developing a new Koala Hospital development, driving project governance, following grant requirements, and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.
What you will be doing:
Manage the PMKH redevelopment project in alignment with the approved Project Plan and associated deliverables
- Implement and enhance project governance and report management practices, including risk management, change control, financial oversight, and program execution
- Ensure the delivery of revised architectural plans and tender documentation for approval by relevant authorities
- Oversee all consultants involved in the redevelopment process and ensure their alignment with project objectives
- Guide the Development Application (DA) and Construction Certificate (CC) approval process
- Formulate a construction procurement strategy and lead the tender process to engage the building contractors
- Foster a positive corporate culture through effective communication and change management practices
- Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships through open communication, negotiation, and issues management
- Generate internal monthly reports and briefs to meet project oversight demands and external reporting obligations
- Influencing and managing stakeholders to drive collaborative engagement and propel project success in adherence to established plans and objectives.
Who you are:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in meeting government regulatory reporting requirements.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent work experience, with 2-4 years of experience in the field or a related area.
- Strong organizational skills that enable effective resource management (both internal and external) to ensure project delivery within specified timelines, scope, and budget.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including negotiation skills to effectively manage stakeholders with varying needs.
- Proficiency in developing project plans, monitoring progress, managing changes and resources, measuring and reporting progress, and conducting risk management.
- Prior experience in chairing and leading working groups and committees comprising functional experts.

This facility will boast visitor-friendly Koala viewing platforms, interactive exhibits, a shop, a Koala clinic, and a laboratory for scientific research and testing.

Important Information:
This is a Full-Time 12-month contract (38 hours per week), working Monday to Friday.
