ABOUT THE COMPANY
Utilstra has been working in utilities infrastructure including in ACT, NSW, VIC & QLD. Our services include Design and Construction (D&C) of Water, Sewer, Power, Gas, Stormwater and Teleco infrastructure for both private and Govt agencies.
A Project Manager position is available in Hervey Bay, QLD area to support the delivery one of our construction projects.
This role includes liaising with a wide variety of professionals including client representatives, subcontractors and high-level Executives. Working safely with a team focus and the willingness to continually improve Utilstra's overall delivery systems will see you excel within a company that is growing rapidly with a performance ethos.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, lead and coordinate resourcing requirements with internal teams and subcontractors for efficient delivery of projects;
- Working collaboratively with field team;
- Facilitate and lead delivery team meetings to hand over work in progress requirements;
- Liaising with subcontractors & suppliers;
- Monitor and control project budgets and manage delivery programs for a suite of allocated projects to ensure that every job is in a known financial state;
- Create project reports and populate all associated document according to the UTILSTRA IMS ;
- Deliver on nominated KPIs in relation to time, cost, quality, and safety;
- Undertake daily project inspections/quality audits in accordance with Utilstra frameworks;
- Encourage innovative ideas for improvements and assess the quality of the ideas and provide feedback;
- Liaise with project team to deliver project accountability requirements (delivery of WAE / As Builts; QA for projects etc….);
- Close and accountable interaction with client representatives to build strong relationships;
- Reporting and briefings (both written and oral) to the senior management;
- Ensure compliance with the Utilstra QMS, WHS & EMS Integrated Management System (IMS); and
- Undertake specific work instructions, contractual obligations and comply with all mandated legislative requirements.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering/construction/project management.
- Experience in utility infrastructure project (eg, pipeline, pump station…etc)
- Experience in building & construction.
- Excellent client liaison and contract management skills.
- Demonstrated experience of min 2 years in the civil/utilities construction Industry.
- A record of developing the methodologies for construction.
- Demonstrated organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills in written and oral.
- Ability to manage subcontractors and AS contracts.
- Sound knowledge in WHS&E and quality requirements with experience in working within AAA management system.
- Demonstrated ability to utilise computerised systems and databases for the delivery of projects.
- An eye for detail and ability to identify cost-saving interventions.
PS: Candidate must be able to live/relocate to Hervey Bay area during this project construction. Relocation Cost will be provided.
