About the role
As the Project Manager - Timetable Change, you are integral to the success of V/Line's Operations Group.
As a member of our Operations Team, the Project Manager for Timetable Change is responsible for organising and overseeing all aspects of implementing Timetable Changes. This role involves proactive management of various projects concurrently, with a keen eye for spotting risks early on. Additionally, you'll play a crucial role in consulting on potential timetable adjustments and their impact on project outcomes for V/Line.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of Timetable Changes, meeting scope requirements.
- Improve Timetable Change management procedures and practices continuously.
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships to manage change effectively for positive outcomes.
- Identify project activities, dependencies, and critical paths, preparing and managing project plans.
- Anticipate and manage project risks and issues at strategic and operational levels.
- Communicate Timetable Change benefits to various audiences.
- Lead project working groups to govern project delivery.
- Represent V/Line at Department of Transport and Planning meetings and other government agencies to coordinate external assurance activities related to Timetable Changes.
- Manage timetable project budgets and financials.
- Instil project management discipline, collaboration, and positive change behaviours.
- Operate within approved V/Line Project Management methodology, ensuring necessary approvals and consultations.
About you
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Prior experience in timetable planning within the rail or transport industry, would be highly advantageous
- Thorough knowledge of the public transport sector and Victorian Government priorities.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of presenting to a range of audiences including crafting high-quality reports and business cases.
- Proficient in project management software and tools for effective planning.
- Demonstrated alignment with V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.

Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with experience. Current employees are expected to remain in their role for a minimum of 12 months before applying to new positions within V/Line.
