Job description

We currently have One (1) Fixed Term, Full Time Vacancy available for immediate filling for a period of up to 14 months, with the possibility of extension.

A Pool will also run for a period of 18 months.

About the role

The Project Officer contributes to the achievement of strategic and business objectives of the WA Museum’s Regions directorate and Creative and Regional Development team. The role assists with the coordination, development, and implementation of various regional projects and strategic regional initiatives.

About you

We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual who loves working in a positive team environment, enjoys a challenge and can hit the ground running in a diverse role. We are seeking an individual who understands regional communities and has worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of a range of projects in support of the division’s objectives.
  • Maintain communication and liaison across the Museum to ensure a collaborative approach is undertaken on projects.
  • Liaise with government agencies and stakeholders as required.
  • Prepare and coordinate reports, submissions, briefings, correspondence, and advice.
  • Undertake detailed research and analysis.
  • Assist in the evaluation and review of project outcomes

Eligibility to Apply

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments), or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will also be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.

Pool Recruitment

This Pool will be open for a period of 18months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time, and part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

Applicants found suitable in this Pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies with the Western Australian Museum and the Department of Local Government, Sport, and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) for the duration of the Pool.
