The key duties of the position include
Reporting to an Assistant Director in the Workforce Design Section, our Project Officer will be responsible for:
- Delivering strategies, frameworks, programs and projects to deliver meaningful and measurable outcomes to DEWR people and culture,
- Leading and coaching team members to build expert capability by fostering a culture of curiosity, respect and excellence,
- Contributing to branch leadership including work planning, resource management and aligning priorities with business outcomes,
- Providing complex advice and problem solving on strategic workforce management matters,
- Contributing to the strategic direction for people and culture initiatives in line with broader Australian Public Service (APS) programs, such as the APS Reform priorities and actions,
- Engaging with key stakeholders and establishing partnerships to implement initiatives,
- Fostering a positive risk culture through understanding and engaging with risk, briefing up on key issues and recommending risk treatments as required,
- Contributing to innovation by continuously evaluating and improving ways of working, taking an agile approach to managing change.
