Civil Contractors Federation Tasmania Ltd (CCFTas) in partnership with the Tasmanian Government, is building a High Vis Army to increase the civil workforce in Tasmania. To achieve this, CCFTas require a new Project Officer.
About CCFTas
CCFTas is the industry peak body and business association for the civil construction industry in Tasmania. We represent, promote, protect, connect, and service the civil construction industry, locally and nationally.
What is Civil Construction?
Civil Construction shapes the world around us. It’s the design, construction and maintenance of the roads we drive on, the bridges we cross, the footpaths we walk on. It’s the water management systems that bring water to our homes and businesses, the sewer systems that takes waste away, the railways, airports and ports that service Tasmania.
About the Role
Reporting to the CEO, the Project Officer will work with the High Vis Army project team to build community awareness of the broad range of careers available in the civil sector. The overall objective of the project is to increase the civil construction sector workforce.
You will be part of the team delivering community and school civil construction career awareness programs, participating in community career expos, delivering career awareness events and facilitating civil job-ready programs across Tasmania. You and the team will also be working closely with civil construction businesses to assist them to grow the workforce, build business resilience, develop staff, and increase industry capability.
About You
To hit the ground running, you will bring:
- A good sense of humour coupled with a great work ethic
- Demonstrated experience in a similar Project or Operational role
- Previous experience coordinating and delivering events
- Excellent communication skills (listening, written and verbal)
- Ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external
- Advanced skills in the MS Office suite and MS Teams
- Experience in maintaining accurate data records
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to identify and solve problems, use your initiative and develop solutions
- Outstanding interpersonal, liaison and networking skills
- Experience working independently and as a member of a team.
Plus, the desirable experience below would be an advantage:
- Previous Workforce development experience
- Previous exposure to Civil Construction, Building, or Engineering industry
- Sound knowledge of National Training and Competency Frameworks
- Certificate III or higher in Business Administration or equivalent experience
- A certificate IV in Training and Assessment or desire to attain.
