About Your Role: Project Security Officer
Opportunity for a Project Security Officer to join our Above Water Systems team based in Garden Island NSW. You will be responsible for the implementation and verification of Thales’s policies and procedures and maintenance of all Security measures in line with the quality standards and within risks mitigation objectives.
This role would suit a candidate with a Defence Security background. Corporate security management experience in the private sector would be beneficial, particularly in the Defence industry. A defence background, particularly within the security intelligence field would also be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the national security clearance process and new applications for relevant employees who require national security clearances.
- Coordinate and manage security measures for the protection of assets within the area/facility, based on the conduct of the security risk assessment.
- Liaise with Corporate Security and Site Management on all defence security issues.
- Ensure security induction and annual refresher training is conducted to all personnel where relevant.
- Actively promote a culture of proactive security reporting and awareness.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Background incompliance type role, Corporate Security, Defence/Intelligence, or similar
- Experience in policy implementation and process ownership
- Ability to multi-task while holding influence with the highest of stakeholders
- Incredible attention to detail
- Thrive working in an autonomous environment
