About the Role

To assist the Voting Services Teams to plan, implement and co-ordinate a number of processes relevant to election events.

To assist in the planning and delivery of operational processes for elections. Elections are large scale events for which the operations include:

·       Counting and Results: Delivery of vote counting to ensure transparent, robust and lawful determination of election results.

·       Election Taskforce: Co-ordination of state and local government by-election operations, commercial elections and support for continuous improvement in the delivery of all election operations.

·       Nominations and Electoral Material: Delivery of candidate nomination and electoral material registration processes for state and local government elections, utilised by candidates, political parties and, where applicable, third party campaigners.

·       Voting Services: Delivery of all voting processes for state and local government elections, including voting in person, postal voting and technology assisted voting, in line with voter and legislative requirements to enable and maximise participation in the electoral process.

Essential requirements

As the successful candidate, you will have:

·       Politically neutral with no affiliation to political parties or lobbyists/campaigners.

·       Satisfactory Criminal Record check.

As part of your application, you will be asked to respond to the two targeted questions (maximum 300 words per question):

Targeted Question 1: This role will require you to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in a varying, politically sensitive environment. How do you adjust your communication style when dealing with a variety of stakeholders?

Targeted Question 2: Provide an example of a time you were required to balance competing requirements of a large volume of work whilst ensuring compliance with relevant timelines, policies, procedures, and legislation; and maintaining high degree of accuracy?

You should include a covering letter summarising your skills, knowledge and work experience, along with an up-to-date resume which clearly detail your skills and experience as relevant to this role.

A talent pool may be created from this recruitment action for ongoing and temporary roles of the same work classification that may become available for filling over the next 18 months.

This role is based in at our Elizabeth Street, Sydney office with a hybrid work arrangement.
