On 14 March 2023 the Federal Court of Australia handed down the determination of Native Title for the Narungga People. This is the formal recognition by the Court that the land and seas on Yorke Peninsula always was, and always will be, Narungga land. Narungga Nation Aboriginal Corporation (NNAC) is the Peak Body representing Narungga Traditional Owners and Native Title Claimants. The Corporation is member – based focusing on developing strong and healthy families, growing Aboriginal culture and maintaining connection to country for future generations; they ensure their people have both a strong voice and access to opportunities.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Contribute to and assist with the design, co-ordination, delivery and evaluation of projects
- Manage individual projects including managing the project budget and coordinating or supervising assigned staff and contractors if required.
- Analyse and collect information, evaluate and report on the delivery of various programs.
- Draft briefings, advice and correspondence accurately reflecting NNAC’s position
- Provide accurate, well researched, balanced reports and recommendations for the CEO and/or Corporate Manager.
- Support Narungga engagement in projects and initiatives.
- Research and apply for Grants which support projects initiatives inline with the Strategic plan
Qualifications & experience
- Proven leadership experience in senior roles including finance and corporate management
- Experience in managing multiple projects including managing the project budget and coordinating or supervising assigned staff and contractors if required.
- Experience with providing accurate, well researched, balanced reports and recommendations for the CEO and/or Corporate Manager.
- Studies towards tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent professional work experience.
- Experience in a similar role preferably within the community or not-for-profit sector in Australia with suitable experience and specialisation the Indigenous sector.
- Experience in coordinating projects and project reporting
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous Australians including in native title and community aspirations and needs.
