ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Senior Legal Counsel – Property, this full-time position is responsible for the management of the end-to-end process of leasing administration, including preparing lease documentation and attending to registration in the relevant State or Territory of Australia, as well as ad hoc legal projects within the wider legal and property teams.
You must have a high level of attention to detail, be able to use your initiative, accurately follow directions and enjoy providing quality service to clients. Further, you will need to demonstrate a high degree of legal experience specific to commercial and/or retail leasing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your working week will be busy and diverse, including the following core responsibilities:
- Liaising with the property team and assisting with the preparation and review of legal documents, including leases, subleases, licences, sublicences, and deeds of variation
- Assisting with the preparation and review of titles office registration forms applicable to all States and Territories in Australia
- Undertaking legal searches, including property and company searches
- Arranging signing by all relevant parties
- Attending to registration either through our settlement agent or through PEXA
- Maintaining and updating our database in relation to all new and existing leases and lease renewals
- Maintaining and updating spreadsheets to track and report on the lease portfolio and lease negotiations
- Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external)
- Assisting with regular customer and/or shareholder reporting
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least three years’ full-time experience working as a property paralegal (essential)
- Sound working knowledge of commercial and retail leasing and related agreements across all States and Territories in Australia
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat and Excel
- Experience using PEXA
- High attention to detail

- An ability to manage competing priorities and time constraints practically and effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to build rapport with clients
