Maxima's Recruitment Services is currently seeking highly motivated individual for the positions of Property Officerwho specialised in Property Acquisitions for one of our clients.
Primary Role Purpose: You will be providing practical, customer-focused advice on property acquisitions for Client's capital delivery programs. Lead effective engagement and negotiations with impacted landowners. You will also be managing complex property transactions and strategic planning for infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead compulsory acquisition processes under the Acquisition of Land Act 1967.
- Provide reliable and appropriate advice to the Project Acquisition Team Leader and project delivery branches within Council regarding capital projects.
- Engage with landowners on property interests acquisition by Cliemt, often dealing with political or sensitive matters.
- Strategically plan for property interests acquisition associated with linear infrastructure, managing complex tenure arrangements.
- Lead property transactions for Council, including land acquisition, easements, and access for infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate specialist advice for property transactions, including independent valuations, town planning, and legal advice.
- Support the implementation of strategic goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the Program with technical input.
- Contribute to maintaining end-to-end processes and precedents to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Use negotiation skills to ensure successful outcomes for Council’s capital projects through clear and effective communication.
Mandatory:
- Qualifications in property, law, business, or other relevant disciplines and/or equivalent experience.
- Current C Class (Manual) driver’s licence
- General understanding of relevant legislation, including Local Government Act 2009 (Qld), Duties Act 2001 (Qld), and Native Title Act 1993 (Cth).
- Detailed understanding of compensation provisions of the Acquisition of Land Act 1967 (Qld) and valuation principles.
- Experience managing various tenures in Queensland as part of projects.
- Ability to plan and coordinate complex projects and processes.
- Understanding of budget constraints and fund allocation for land acquisition.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong understanding of property acquisitions in a government context.
