What we are looking for:
We’re looking for someone with extensive experience in the building industry, either as a Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor or similar, to join our team as a Works Officer. You’ll be responsible for coordinating and supervising the maintenance and capital works requirements for Council buildings. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a number of exciting projects and gain satisfaction from seeing positive outcomes.
The role will involve:
- Preparing Asset Condition and Building Inspection Reports for buildings
- Preparing scope of works
- Completing detailed inspections
- Preparing and implementing annual maintenance schedules
- Supervising contractors, tradespersons and other providers
- Preparing Quotation and Tender documents

What you should have to apply:
You’ll have a number of years experience in the building industry with exposure to project and facilities management. You’ll be confident in assessing works and will have a strong eye for associated costs. You’ll be happy working in a role that will see you office bound at times, then out on sites involved at others. This role will require you to be on site and at times, some heavy lifting, so a degree of physical fitness it required. Ideally, you’ll have experience with heritage buildings.
You’ll have:
- Current White Card
- Strong Health & Safety principals
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to relate well to contractors, internal stakeholders, and the public
- Strong legislative knowledge across building, plumbing, electrical
