PAWS Psychology Eltham
Psychologist contracting positions available for general psychologists or clinical psychologists wanting to work flexible contract hours (morning or afternoon session times will be on offer).
PAWS Psychology clinic is a small private psychology practice located in a beautiful landscaped setting in Eltham where the work environment is tranquil and offers outdoor spaces to work with clients as needed.
Friday afternoons once per month will be offered as client-free afternoons with obligation free opportunities to socialise or collaborate with peers/colleagues if desired
5 (50-minute) client sessions would be split into a regular weekday morning shift of 8.00am-1.30pm (with 30-minute client free break included and 10 minutes between sessions for notes) on weekdays. Or a regular weekday afternoon shift of 2.30pm–8.00pm (with a 30 minute client free break included). Opportunity to negotiate flexible days and morning/afternoon shift offerings.
Responsibilities:
An ability to work autonomously with clients and to be reliable
Experience with providing high quality psychological services to clients, especially children and young people
Incorporation of play therapy along with other evidence based modalities such as CBT, ACT, Schema therapy to ensure client engagement
§ Excellent communication and rapport building skills and experience working to coach parents in parenting skills
§ A high level of motivation and a good work ethic
§ A dedication to self-reflection and professional development
Qualifications:
§ § Current registration with AHPRA
Essential:
§ A Working with Children's card (or eligibility if working with children)
§ Supervision must be accessed externally as required for AHPRA
§ Have own ABN or preparedness to obtain one
§ Medicare provider number or preparadness to obtain one
Desired:
§ Experience in neurodivergent or cognitive/educational assessments an advantage.
§ Experience or interest in the provision of ADHD coaching and supports for adults also an advantage.
Ability to assess Autism (MIGDAS 2), ADHD and Cognitive/Educational
