About your opportunity To provide public health nursing services for the Communicable Disease Control section of the Townsville Public Health Unit (TPHU). This includes surveillance and investigation of notifiable diseases, providing expert advice on communicable diseases and immunisation to health practitioners and the community, and responding to disease outbreaks.
This position will be required to provide training, resources and expert advice on communicable diseases and contemporary immunisation practice.This position will also provide support to the Public Health Nurses in Mount Isa and Mackay so some travel may be required at times such as in outbreak situations
Role requirements

• Mandatory: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
• Mandatory: Authorisation as an Immunisation Program Nurse to practice under the provisions of the Health (Drugs and Poisons) Regulation 1996.
• Highly Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position or working towards a relevant qualification.
• Adult Life Support Certificate: Must be able to obtain and then maintain an annual competency in Advanced Life Support as per Townsville Hospital and Health Service policy Life Support Training and Assessment -THSDCLI040151v6 (http://qheps.health.qld.gov.au/tville/policies/thsdcli/thsdcli040151.pdf)

• Fixed Term temporary part-time 02/01/2023 - 31/12/2023 (28 hours per fortnight)
• Salary range of $60.01 to $65.15 p.h. (NG7)
• 17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted
