YOUR OPPORTUNITY
In this role, you will be at the forefront of Purchasing and Inventory control. Your expertise will be crucial in efficiently and effectively managing the company's procurement activities and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
Key role and responsibilities;
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimising excess.
- Implement inventory control systems and procedures.
- Identify and address discrepancies or issues in inventory.
Procurement Planning:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for timely and cost-effective material acquisition.
- Coordinate with suppliers to secure the best prices and delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to forecast inventory needs.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms to ensure high-quality supplies at competitive rates.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyse inventory data to forecast demand and adjust procurement plans.
- Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, supply chain performance, and procurement costs.
- Use inventory management software to track and monitor inventory levels and performance metrics.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
- Conduct regular audits to assess inventory accuracy and identify improvements.
- Continuously evaluate and improve purchasing processes and procedures.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
You're a meticulous professional with solid experience in Purchasing and Inventory management, overseeing processes with a strong work ethic and genuine passion for your field. Your commitment to exceptional customer service is underscored by your proficiency in technology and a solid grasp of Purchasing and Inventory operations.
To be successful, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory and purchasing management, preferably in the electrical industry or a related field.
- Strong understanding of inventory and purchasing control principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Proficiency in inventory, purchasing management software and ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyse data sets and identify actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- A positive and ‘can-do’ attitude to drive success.
- Self-motivated, adept at working independently while also thriving in collaborative team environments.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
