The purchasing team plays an integral role in the supplier to customer process, and is looking for a junior Purchasing and Supply Chain Coordinator to join the team for 12 months.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, our new Coordinator will assist in the Purchasing and forecasting process to ensure timely availability of products to IMCD customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Placing of purchase orders with our suppliers through JDE (ERP System)
- Liaise with the sales team to consolidate inventory forecasts/customer orders and convert them into purchase orders
- Follow up with vendors for timely delivery of purchase orders
- Assist in freight cost/landed cost estimations for business units
- Upload forecasts and purchase orders to vendor portals
- Liaise with customer service regarding the delivery schedules and order status
- Monitor, maintain and update purchase order delivery dates in JDE
- Generate open order reports for circulation to the sales team
While this is a 12-month fixed-term contract, IMCD is constantly growing and evolving and there may be an opportunity for a permanent position in the future.
About you:
Qualification- Hold a tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain or related discipline is desirable.
Experience- Practical exposure to the purchasing process would put you a step above the rest, but not required
Computer Skills- Demonstrated ability to learn computer systems will mean that you can learn our ERP System.
Ability to Multitask and Prioritise – You will have demonstrable experience in adapting to complex or challenging situations as they arise and being able to prioritise deadlines.
