Are you ready to take on a dynamic role in maritime logistics and procurement? We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our team in Port Moresby as a Purchasing & Logistics Officeron a permanent full-time basis.

You can look forward to being directly involved in vessel operations, managing purchasing processes to overseeing inventory and collaborating with suppliers. What You Will Do
Reporting to the Operations Manager, your main responsibilities in this position will include:
Manage the process of raising Purchase Orders, including obtaining necessary approvals and documentation.
Coordinate with vessels to ensure accurate and complete Purchase Requests.
Initiate the procurement process by sending out Requests for Quotation to potential suppliers.
Evaluate supplier responses to make informed procurement decisions.
Coordinate orders for vessels, including fresh water, fresh provisions and cleaning items.
Supervise Warehouse Assistant to oversee inventory management in warehouse stores, ensuring accurate tracking and recording of stock levels.
Collaborate with management to identify vessel spares requirements, and arrange timely delivery of vessel spares, considering urgency and cost-effectiveness.
Source local suppliers for spares as needed.
What You Will Need To Succeed
To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate:
Experience in maritime logistics, supply chain management, purchasing, or related disciplines.
Understanding of vessel systems and parts requirements.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work discreetly with confidential information.
