This is an exciting time to join NRW Holdings as we are now seeking an ambitious and innovative Purchasing Officer to join our highly skilled Procurement & Logistics team at our head office in Belmont. This is a permanent full time position reporting to the Supply Chain Superintendent. This role will see you execute the procurement of goods and services in a timely and cost-efficient manner, while complying with company policies and procedures.
As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Processing purchase requisitions in accordance with established procedures in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Monitoring and following up purchase orders to ensure that on time delivery is met
- Prioritising tasks to ensure optimal customer service is provided at all times
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and applying skill to realise saving potentials
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external suppliers along with client stakeholders
- Liaising closely with the warehouse team
- Attending to flight, accommodation and car hire bookings as required
To be considered for this position you will require:
- Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience in a similar position within the mining, civil and/or infrastructure sectors
- Experience working on MinePoint (Microsoft Dynamics AX) is desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Microsoft software packages
- Proactive attitude and ability to work within a fast paced environment
- Strong administration skills and communication skills both written and verbal
