We are seeking a skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team at Levy to ensure the seamless procurement of goods and services with our newest partnership at Melbourne Olympic Park, the epicentre of gastronomic innovation.
Showcase your expertise across this globally recognised destination for the best of live sport and entertainment including five iconic venues (John Cain Arena, Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena, Kia Arena and CENTREPIECE).
Leveraging Levy Australia’s cutting-edge, guest-centric approach your role will be integral in allowing our teams to deliver legendary experiences for the up to three million guests to hundreds of events the park welcomes each year, including the world’s biggest tennis tournament, the Australian Open. Fast-paced, and no two days the same.
THE POSITION
- Negotiating supplier price, terms, quality, availability, and delivery requirements.
- Lead and coordinate deliveries and streamline all logistics in the back of house culinary sector.
- Warehousing, organisation and dispatch.
- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, vendors, and partners to secure favourable terms and pricing agreements while maintaining quality standards.
- Oversee the procurement process from purchasing to delivery, ensuring timely acquisition of ingredients and supplies to support culinary operations.
- Build and nurture relationships with suppliers and vendors, fostering open communication and collaboration to address any issues or concerns and optimise supply chain efficiency.
THE PERSON
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, high pressured organisaton that does operate in the grey quite a bit.
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, ideally in a large-scale hospitality, entertainment, or sports venue environment is favourable but not a necessity.
- Experience in logistics with high levels of administration and organisational skills.
- Contract management experience, including negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors to support cost-effectiveness and quality assurance.
- Ability to streamline the purchasing and stores operations from order to loading dock receipt.
- Efficient inventory management.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to cultivate and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support the organization's culinary objectives.
- Organisational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills, motivating coaching and inspiring your stores team.
- Fork Lift licence ideal but not a necessity.
