Echo Marine Group is an Australian owned and operated company with over 10 years experience in the Marine Industry. We specialize in the manufacture of Luxury Superyachts, Commercial Workboats, and Refits and Maintenance on a range of vessels in the Superyacht, Workboat and Defence areas.
Currently we are looking for a Purchasing Officer for our production facility in Henderson. This will be a Full time position, offering 38 hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities shall include (but not limited to) the following:
- Managing the company’s external suppliers with particular emphasis on the purchase of Materials and finished parts for production;
- Ensure parts and materials are purchased at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production;
- Items purchased must be value for money:
- Ensure risk aversion for items purchased (delivery date blowout, loss of items);
- Process requisitions and prepare purchase orders for necessary approval;
- Foster close working relationships with associated departments e.g. Sales, Production, Design.
- Continually improve purchasing methods and drive down external spend;
- Carry out comprehensive reviews of the Purchasing function and its methodology and identify and implement improvements;
- To carry out Supplier Evaluation Assessments in accordance with Echo Marine Group’s Quality Management System.

Training
The Purchasing Officer will be provided with training where required, to equip them in fulfilment of their position. Initial training will be provided in the following areas:
- Induction;
- Basic understanding of Company Policies, Procedures and Standard.

- Perform duties in accordance with relevant Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental and Equal Opportunity Legislation.
Quality Management
- Work in accordance with Echo Marine Group’s Quality Management System.
Working Hours
- Ordinary working hours are 38 hours per week.
- You may be required to work reasonable additional hours from time to time to meet the operational requirements of the company.
Essential Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Work Experience and Knowledge of Marine Supply, Servicing and Components.
- MOYOB Proficiency
Preferred Minimum Requirements
- Previous experience in a boat building environment.
