About the Opportunity
We currently have a vacancy for fulltime Purchasing/Inventory Officer within our Purchasing team located at the Bayswater office. The Purchasing/Inventory Officer is responsible for the procurement of goods and services essential for M&B's operations. The successful candidate will be an individual with a high quality approach.
What you'll do
- Prepare purchase orders, requisition forms, and track the status of orders, backorders
- Assist with the sourcing and evaluation of suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to secure the best prices and quality.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, and pricing.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce procurement costs.
- Analyse market trends and supplier pricing to ensure competitive pricing.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, pricing, and supplier agreements.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and inventory levels
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in purchasing, preferably within a FMCG environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with peers and suppliers.
- Proficiency in procurement software and inventory management systems (Desirable – Frameworks)
- Proficiency in Ms-Suite (Intermediate to Advanced Excel)
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of market research, data analysis, and purchasing best practices.
