Quality Control Officer - Mechanical Engineer

They now seek an experienced Quality Control Officer- Mechanical Engineer to join their Sydney Mount Druitt team.
The Role
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Quality Control Officer- Mechanical Engineer looking for new challenges and looking to develop professionally.
The role is a full time permanent position with an annual salary of $ 80,000 to 85,000 plus superannuation.
Responsibilities
· Read and interpret packaging design blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
· Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
· Design mechanical equipment, machines, components, and products for manufacture at Leviat, ensuring alignment with construction systems and standards, and utilizing innovative solutions to enhance performance.
· Understanding customer expectations and promoting customer service excellence at all times.
· Developing and implementing Quality Control processes around the business.
· Performing quality tests - destructive & sensory on incoming goods and products from production.
· Maintaining and calibrating goods inwards and production instruments, gauges and equipment.
· Support Quality assurance team to maintain compliance standards for the site.
· Monitoring outgoing product quality.
· Provide quality related mentorship and guidance to the team.
· Control of non-conforming product - hold, rework, reassess, reject.
· Examining the quality of raw materials that are used in production.
· Perform checks and assessments in timely manner to maintain customer service levels.
· Ensuring our ERP system is effectively utilised for quality reporting and referencing to support the business needs.
· Continuous process improvement around systems, procedures, and overall standard of Quality Control within the business.
· Ensuring and promoting compliance with all EH&S systems and procedures.
· Establish and enforce standards and policies at Leviat for the installation, modification, Quality Control, testing, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical equipment, adhering to engineering principles and safety regulations.
· Conduct regular inspections of plant facilities at Leviat to ensure optimum performance, identifying opportunities for enhancements in mechanical systems and equipment.
· Direct the maintenance activities for plant buildings and mechanical equipment at Leviat, coordinating requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules to uphold high operational standards.
The Requirements
· At least a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
· At least 2 years of commercial experience in Mechanical Engineering
· Knowledge of metal fabrication, machining and forming processes.
· Knowledge of ISO9001 standard and audit process.
· Supervisory experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
· Background in Quality Control.
· Ability to coach and train others in QC tools and techniques.
· A successful track record of change and process improvement.
· Ability to identify solutions based on a mixture of analysis, experience and judgment.
· Excellent planning and time management skills.
· An effective verbal and written communicator for all levels of the organization.
