This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced leader to play a key role within our People, Safety and Systems Team.
This full-time role, based in Kingston (Hobart) Reporting to the People, Safety and Systems Manager, will provide generalist QHSE leadership and strategy across our 260 employee business.
The position includes:
- Overseeing and leading the QHSE Team (2 direct reports);
- Providing QHSE advice to all employees and sub-contractors (as required);
- Assisting with the development and implementation of Project Management Plans (PMP's);
- Actively ensuring compliance with relevant standards, including Federal Safety Commission requirements;
- Reviewing current quality systems and implementing changes as required;
- Leading and driving QHSE culture change, through education and awareness;
- Developing and implementing contemporary and user friendly QHSE systems;
- Providing strategic approaches to address underlying issues.
Not only will you will bring a combination of commercial and people leadership experience, but also:
- A high level of QHSE experience;
- The ability to provide leadership and direction in a respectful manner;
- Demonstrated ability to deliver on objectives and targets;
- Ability to build relationships with external stakeholder (ie. Worksafe Tasmania and Unions);
- Strong analytical and organisational skills when providing practical solutions for challenging issues;
- Pro-active mindset, with a positive client outcome focus;
- Ability to problem-solve and provide educated recommendations
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Certificate IV in WHS, white card and current drivers licence.
It is also desirable that you have experience with ISO standards and external auditing requirements within a construction environment.
