This is a rapidly growing food manufacturer in the bakery space that has created some very well known (and delicious) sweet and savoury products which are supplied direct to consumer and also via major retailers. Based in the Western suburbs, they've got a well established factory that produces their much loved core product range, and have just expanded into a new space for the production of a range of high care products. We're looking for someone on an interim basis to manage this critical function, while the role is recruited permanently. You are more than welcome to put your hand up for the permament process while working in the role as a contractor.
About the role
The Quality Manager leads a small QA team of two mid level team members, as well as all QA deliverables across the product range and for both factories, as well as working with NPD to ensure the innovation process factors in relevant QA and regulatory requirements. A key project is the scale up and first production in the new facility which produces high care products, and the implementation and optimisation of the QA system for these new products and processes.
About you
We're seeking someone who has been a QA Manager in a Food Manufacturing business. Because this is an immediate need for a contractor, we're flexible on the level of experience you may bring to the role whether you're relatively early in your career or very experienced - we just need someone who can start more or less immediately in a role that may only last a few months.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (science, food science or technology)
- Experience at the QA Manager level (or similar such as a Senior Coordinator or Specialist)
- Experience in Food Manufacturing (high care products preferred, bakery also advantageous)
- Ability to commence immediately and availability for 2-3 months
This role would be suitable for someone who is either about to finish their position, or who is in between jobs. If that is your situation, we can offer a quick start and a generous rate (in excess of what you would expect in an equiavlent permanent role). If your experience fits the guide for the permanent position being hired concurrently, you would have a significant advantage on the candidates being considered for that position, given you'd already be in the business. The business itself has grown rapidly and continues to do so, they're launching new products, have strong relationships with retail customers, are investing in manufacturing capability, and all of this creates opportunities.
