The Position
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, Pacific Seeds now seek a Quality Manager to effectively manage the Pacific Seeds Quality Control functions (seed quality assessment, genetic purity assessment and seed technology research) to ensure that information is available for product release decisions to be made in a timeframe which meets commercial requirements.
The position will provide regular updates to the Managing Director on progress of key deadlines and initiatives as well work closely on all Australian Quality matters to ensure outcomes are aligned to global processes and policies. In addition, the role will work closely with other managers to provide support and guidance to achieve common goals as well as mentor and support team members to maximise personal performance.
The Person
To be successful in this busy but very rewarding position, you will possess the following background, key skills and attributes:
- Demonstrated experience across production agriculture ideally within the seed sector with exposure to seed analysis concepts and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend concepts of plant science and their application to a Quality Control testing program
- Be a self-starter with well-developed organisational skills and the ability to work independently
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
- Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Highly motivated, detail focussed and flexible in approach
- An easy-going style with the confidence to deal with a wide range of stakeholders
- Have an open mind to alternative opinions
