The Role
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Quality Officer to drive the testing programs at our Carrum Downs site and ensuring our quality accountabilities are maintained to the standard that will ensure product safety and compliance with customer and company requirements, food safety standards, government regulations and industry best practice.
Reporting to the National Quality and HSE Manager, this role will also actively support the safety and environmental agenda and ensure site compliance to all relevant regulatory legislation.
Duties and Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Conduct finished product and raw material testing daily
- Ensure compliance to the highest of Food Safety and Quality standards
- Manage all external Audits of the factory and quality system by regulatory bodies, certification bodies and suppliers with support from National Quality Manager
- Maintain all laboratory testing records.
- Investigate Customer Complaints and determine & implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions
- Conduct hygiene and environmental swabbing as per Five:am environmental program and ensure the relevant corrective actions are completed for any out of specification results.
- Support R&D activities by providing assistance in conducting trials, product evaluation and benchmarking.
- Actively participate in delivery of the objectives of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) management system to ensure that the organisation complies with all its legislative, regulatory and client OHS obligations
- Work with the site team to report and conduct RCA’s to investigate hazards/ accidents/ incidents etc for prevention of reoccurrence
About You
This pivotal role is best suited to a highly motivated Quality professional with prior experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG or dairy.
You will demonstrate a sound commitment to safety for yourself and your colleagues and be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement and getting the job done.
What we are looking for:
- Knowledge of Dairy standards and knowledge of Food Safety
- Previous experience within the quality team of a food or dairy manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Ability to support a food safety culture and continuous quality improvements.
- Enthusiastic and reliable individual (availability to work flexible hours dependant on trials)
- Ability to complete work to a high standard and to agreed timelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and works well in a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Initiative and willingness to learn.
