About the Opportunity:
The QSE Advisor position is a hands-on role and, under the guidance of the Director QSE, will be assisting with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our QSE System and associated policies and procedures. As a subject matter expert with great people and engagement skills, you will be providing best practice QSE advice, training, coaching, and mentoring to internal stakeholders in a manner that fosters a positive culture whilst ensuring legislative requirements are met.

Core tasks & responsibilities

  • Maintain Quality, Safety and Environmental (QSE)standards, systems, and processes
  • Review, develop, and maintain QSE System including related documentation (eg. Procedures, JSAs and Work Instructions)
  • Conduct regular inspections, safety audits and hazard assessments of work locations, work groups, projects and individuals
  • Contribute to the development of a culture that promotes safe quality products, the wellbeing of all our people/customers, and the prioritization of good environmental practices, through appropriate programs and activities
  • Conduct training, information and communication sessions for managers, supervisors and employees on quality, Safety and Environment practices, legislation, systems and policies
  • Coordinate relevant meetings, audits, reviews and reporting
  • Coordinate and actively participate in QSE incident investigations and action plans, ensure they are entered into the appropriate systems, and that any action items are closed out
  • Prepare and present QSE reports for management meetings.
  • General QHSE/Administration duties, as required.

Skills and qualities required:-

  • Knowledge of QSE practices including demonstrated skills in completing audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Experience in providing QSE advice to the entire business
  • Experience in the implementation of QSE policies and work practices that align with organisational policies and regulatory requirements
  • Effective people skills, and an ability to influence decision making
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional skills in identifying priorities, planning, time management, organising, communicating and task completion
  • Ability to engage and influence with all employees regardless of hierarchy and background
  • Willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and get involved in operational matters to further enhance a strong QSE culture

Qualifications

  • Diploma level in WH&S (or equivalent)
  • Trained as an internal Auditor /investigator will be well regarded
  • 3+ years in similar industry (preferred)
  • Lead Investigator – ICAM trained (preferred)
  • Exposure to digital systems and strong tech/computer skills
  • A background in technical writing will also be highly regarded
  • Experience in both Australian and New Zealand businesses (preferred)
