Our client owns and operates quarries under various arrangements in northern New South Wales and southeast Queensland. They operate up to ten fixed quarry sites at any given time along with additional capacity for mobile crushing and screening operations as required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day to day quarry operations, ensuring safety and efficiency
- Manage production schedules, resource allocation, and equipment maintenance
- Implement and maintain environmental and safety standards
- Foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement
- Manage staff
- Previous experience working in a Quarry Manager capacity
- Hold the appropriate statutory practicing certificate to manage a quarry or can complete the requisite qualifications in the short-term
- Proven experience in quarry management in NSW
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance including NVNL and Chain of Responsibility requirements
- Technical proficiency in quarry equipment and processes
- Relevant qualifications in mining or a related field
- Have a proactive attitude towards safety and environment and improving systems within legislative and regulatory frameworks
- Have a strong customer orientation and enjoy the prospect of building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Have demonstrated experience leading mobile plant crushing, screening and maintenance operations
- Be committed to quality principles and identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities through your team to maximise efficiency and experience working with Transport for NSW Specifications
- Fixed and Mobile plant maintenance experience.
- A thorough understanding of Drill & Blast and Quarry development.
- Budgeting, cost analysis and P&L management experience
