The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team to be a Rapid Instrument Technician. This job focuses on maintaining and improving the accuracy of in-line process and laboratory analytical equipment. Ensure at-line and in-line analytical equipment supports effective decision making with regard to yield and conformance to specification by production teams and quality is in line with company or national and international standards.
Our Port Melbourne site is not only the home of Vegemite it is also the home of other Australian iconic products, such as Bega Peanut Butter, Bega Simply Nuts, Zoosh and Cream Cheese. VEGEMITE has been proudly made in Port Melbourne, Australia since 1923.
Please note that this role will require occasional travel to our sites both within Victoria and intestate.
Responsibilities
- Quality Testing & Design - Prepare and perform calibrations, troubleshoot and maintain equipment and develop predictive models for new product groups when required on rapid analysis equipment.
- Operational Compliance - Travel to all sites across the Bega network, to provide training, calibration and maintenance support for rapid analytical equipment.
- Performance Management - Commission and ensure required calibrations available on new analytical/rapid analysis equipment and coordinate service contract preventative maintenance of equipment as per agreed service contract.
- Document Preparation - Develop procedures for production staff to adequately use rapid analysis equipment.
- Improvement/Innovation - Support and assist production and laboratory staff to undertake training as required to ensure staff are trained adequately.
About you
- Previous experience in laboratory analysis - chemical
- Knowledge in IR/FTIR & NIR instrumentation
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting analytical equipment
- Ability to engage with stakeholders both internal and external including instrument vendors
- Being able to work autonomously, prioritise your own tasks and be confident in your decision making.
