You are.
As a trusted individual, you will have extensive experience with managing trust accounts for a mid-tier Real Estate agency. You’ll have a strong knowledge of the local Real Estate market, ethical standards, industry codes of conduct and Residential Tenancies Act 2010. You’ll have a proven track record of strong attention to detail and accuracy, strong communication skills, coupled with an analytical and problem-solving mindset.
About the role.
We are looking for an experienced Real Estate Trust Accountant who is seeking their next professional role, managing trust accounts for both sales and property management. Your responsibilities will include:
Property Management:
- Tenant rent receipting
- Daily reconciliations
- Creditor and landlord disbursements (Twice Weekly)
- End of month and Mid-Month processes. Checking landlord payments, payment methods, check statements and check fees.
- Downloading all statements and filing of all paperwork
- Landlord outgoings and redirections
- Processing of holding deposits, landlord fees and audits at EOM
- Process of change of ownership in Property Me
- Adjust ledgers and rent as required
- Request refunds from creditors as required
- Bond reconciliation
- Allocate unallocated funds and tenant reimbursements
- Trust System establishment
- Daily banking or cash & cheque deposits at office
- Add owner, property and creditor files
- Amend files (i.e., change owner bank account details)
- Creditor and tenant invoice entry
- Send client statements, printing and posting of owner/creditor statements/remittances
- Checking the accounts email for any bills/invoices to be added into Property Me
- Processing of bills in Property Me
- Management reporting
- System Auditing
Sales:
- Trust system establishment
- Daily receipting
- Daily reconciliations
- Confirm settlement dates with solicitors
- Obtain bank account details from vendors and verbally confirm
- Prepare settlement, release of deposit and deposit refund paperwork
- Prepare settlement, release of deposit and deposit refund disbursements
- End of month processing
- Reporting
- System auditing
- Checking of vendor, purchaser and solicitor details
- Cash and cheque receipting (when required)
- Banking of cash and cheques (when required)
- Drawing and postage of cheque payments (when required)
- Printing and posting of sales correspondence
- Completing, scanning, archiving and moving of sales files in M/S Teams
- Management reporting
Requirements.
Hold a current Real Estate Licence and complete CPD points each year to remain compliant.
