Receptionist / Administrator for a part-time position based in Townsville

An exciting opportunity to join a leading government research organisation, who have been facilitating innovative science for nearly a century across 59 locations in Australia and in 3 countries overseas. 
This organisation is currently seeking an experienced Receptionist/Administrator to engage in a part-time position under a 12-month contract, based in Townsville, QLD. 
Your new role 
As a Receptionist, you will provide administrative support to a multidisciplinary team, to achieve scientific objectives and meet regulatory responsibilities. As the first point of contact for staff and visitors, you will be primarily responsible for providing high-level customer service duties. 
You will be responsible for high quality reception / visitor management services, including external and internal enquiries and freight and mail delivery support. 
What you'll need to succeed 
To be successful in this role you will have:

Demonstrated experience as a receptionist, with the ability to multitask a range of administrative support tasks 

Sound understanding of using Microsoft Office applications, with ability to familiarise with organisation-specific software and systems

Excellent Customer Service skills

Strong Communication Skills 

A current driver's licence

The ability to pass a National Police Check, as well as other pre-employment clearance requirements. 

What you'll get in return 
A unique opportunity to provide administrative support across a range of operational functions, paying $34.58 an hour plus superannuation. This is a part-time position, working 4 hours a day, Monday – Friday (either 8:30am-1pm, or 12:30pm-5pm), with some ad-hoc full days under a 12-month contract.
