We have two 12-month contracts available for committed team members to support us as we transition to a new operating system for the Shire, including a new Records Management system. There may be opportunity for ongoing permanent employment following the completion of these contracts.

Job Description
As a Records Officer you will maintain records in accordance with the Shire’s Record Keeping Plan and the State Records Act, including mail handling, data entry and maintenance of our Electronic Documents Management System (EDMS), digitisation of records for retention and disposal, assisting staff with research and records information and providing training and support for new and existing staff on Records Management practices. Your confidentiality and diplomatic approach to dealing with sensitive matters will ensure you build trust with staff across the organisation. Your dedication to quality and commitment to improvement will support the Records team to build strong Records Management processes for our future system.

- Base annual salary $63,785 per annum dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate:

- Strong computer skills, including use of MS Office, internet and email
- Good numerical and literacy skills
- Experience in Records management, registering and retrieving documents
- Experience with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)
Knowledge or experience of local government structure and function and the State Records Act will be advantageous.
