Albany Halfway House Inc (AHA) operates in the not-for-profit sector offering a regional service to people with mental health conditions. With a 40-year history in the region, AHA is entering an exciting period of growth and development.
This new role will manage the organisation's programs and services and help drive the future of the organisation as part of the Executive Team.
AHA offers a range of services including a psychiatric hostel, transitional housing, outreach support, and NDIS programs with funding from the WA Mental Health Commission and the Department of Communities.
Services and supports are delivered by skilled and trained staff specialising in psychosocial support to ensure our consumers receive flexible and individualised services based on their recovery goals.
Duties include:
- Assist with completing domestic household duties.
- Support clients in navigating mental distress.
- Support clients in implementing recovery goals and plans.
- Coaching in, and access to, social activities & life skills activities
- Maintaining and enhancing their practical skills to promote independence and maintain positive living arrangements.
- Shopping, meal preparation & dietary well-being
- Supporting our clients to live their lives with both a voice & a choice
To be considered for this role, applicants require:
- Current driver’s license and vehicle
- Demonstrates effective communication skills
- First Aid Certificate
- National Police Clearance
- NDIS Worker Check (can be completed on employment)
- A minimum Cert IV in Mental Health (will consider current students studying towards certificate, other qualifications in Community Services, Disability, and/or Individual Supports qualifications with the commitment to complete Cert IV in Mental Health)
