About the Role
We are currently seeking a passionate, and dedicated Recovery Support Worker who embraces the bigger picture of recovery to join our Youth Mental Health Homelessness and AoD service at Momentum Queens Park team.
Recovery Support Workers provide practical and emotional support and assistance to Young People on their ‘personal recovery’ journey.
Recovery Support Workers work as a part of a team to create a person-centered recovery environment; which enables service users to embark on a journey toward building or rebuilding the life they desire.
The RSW will require knowledge in trauma-informed care and will be expected to participate in group work, supporting clients’ needs and practical skills as well as administrative duties.
The Recovery Support Worker will contribute to a therapeutic community and work as part of a dedicated recovery team.
The site rosters may include a combination of shifts, including afternoon, weekends, and active awake.
We have a part-time position available offering 105 hours over 4 weeks.
About Service
Based in Queens Park, Momentum is an 8-bed facility that provides a safe and secure residence for youth aged between 16 and 24 years experiencing mental health issues, with or without co-occurring AOD issues, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Momentum QP is delivered from Richmond Wellbeing in partnership with Anglicare WA, Cyrenian House and Royal Perth Bentley Group.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will possess;
A minimum Cert III in Mental Health, Youth Work or human services related field.
Experience in working in Youth mental health or community service setting.
An understanding of trauma-informed practice
Demonstrated experience in working as part of a team.
Flexibility and the ability to work across a 24/7 roster and the flexibility to fill team leave with advanced notice
A valid First Aid
A current satisfactory Police Clearance; and
A current driver’s license.
Lived experience of mental health recovery or as family members of people with a lived experience of recovery is desirable.
